Mary let out a sigh, annoyed at how both Simon and Vera were acting.  Sure, Vera might be overreacting as she usually does, but Simon is not helping in the slightest.

“Seriously guys, I almost have everything complete.  Can you act civil for five minutes?” Mary asked, rubbing her temples.

“But it is all his fault!  How can you act so calm when he is obviously insane?” Vera asked, obviously not wanting to calm down.

“Maybe because she doesn’t have the same amount of energy as you.” a woman suggested as she entered the room in a hoodie and jeans.

“Oh, Val, is that you?  Wow, Sal sure is fast when you tell him to do something.  Does this mean you will be helping us?” Mary asked, looking up from her work.

“Totally, it seems like it would be fun.  Anyways, I kinda owe my bro for something, so it would have been weird if I refused to help.” Val replied, laughing nervously.

Looking around, Val created an arm chair in order to sit down comfortably, offering to make one for Vera and Simon.  While Vera refused, Simon asked for a manager chair because it could spin.  As soon as the chair materialized, Simon was sitting in it, slowly spinning around.

“Um… can I have one too?” Vera asked timidly.

“Sure thing!  These things are a piece of cake for me.” Val responded, materializing a manager chair for Vera, identical for the one she made for Simon, “Anyways, back to why I am actually here.  While I still don’t understand why Sal can’t handle this on his own, I can at least do my best.”

“Wait, what can Sal do?  I always thought he was simply someone who simply watched events unfold, rarely interfering, or are the myths of the All-Seeing Eye really true?” Mary asked.

“Oh, they do not even come close to fully showing my bro’s true power, but that is because he usually does not face nonhumans.  He’s actually really cool, you should’ve seen him when NAPR tried to control him, though I guess it is easier to see if you could fluidly move through time.  I can’t myself, but from what Hunter told me, he was rather cool.” Val explained, gushing over how cool her brother was.

“He sounds so cool!  Why wouldn’t he always use his strength to help others?” Vera asked, temporarily stopping the manager chair.

“I guess everyone has a past that holds them back.” Mary stated, looking over to Simon, wondering if that was why he had been acting weird.  Oh well, maybe some things are meant to never be understood.
In which Val makes her intentions to help Mary know.  Also spinning manager chairs.
